Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine (CGC 6.0)
Condition Details
Visible spine stress and color-breaking ticks along the left edge. Minor corner blunting on the top right. Some surface wear/scuffing visible in the dark black and purple regions of the cover. Slight edge wear on the bottom right corner.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $15 - $25; Graded (CGC 6.0): $45 - $60. Note: UK Price variants usually carry a 10-20% premium for specialized collectors, but slightly lower demand among general US collectors.
Recent Sales
Recent sales for US editions in mid-grade range from $10 to $30. UK 12p variants have recently sold between $18 and $40 depending on sharpness.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The costs of grading/shipping would likely exceed the market value of the book at this grade. However, it is an excellent candidate for a Mylar sleeve for preservation.
Notable Features
Features the Avengers guest appearance. Rare UK 12p Price Variant. Final issue of the original Black Panther solo series/volume 1 (it ended at #15 shortly after). Barcode present (Direct Edition style for international market).
Authentication Notes
The 12p price stamp and 'Marvel All-Colour Comics' branding are consistent with authentic UK exports from 1979. Ink saturation and paper aging appear consistent with late 70s Marvel stock.
