Comic Description
A martial arts magazine featuring articles on major stars of the 1970s. This issue focuses heavily on the legacy of Bruce Lee's unfinished project 'The Silent Flute' and David Carradine's role in the adaptation (eventually released as Circle of Iron). Also features Chuck Norris and Angela Mao-Ying.
Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Good/Very Good (CGC 3.0)
Condition Details
Extensive surface wear and heavy 'spider-web' color-breaking creases throughout the cover. Significant spine stress and splitting. Visible corner blunting and edge chipping. The top right corner shows localized moisture damage or heavy bending. Surface scuffing and loss of gloss.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20 | Graded: $40 - $60 (though rarely graded in this condition)
Recent Sales
Comparable issues in mid-to-high grade trade for $25 - $50. In this heavily worn condition, market value is suppressed and mostly of interest to Bruce Lee/Chuck Norris completists.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of CGC/CBCS grading would exceed the market value of the magazine in this condition. It is best kept as a reading/reference copy.
Notable Features
Bruce Lee 'The Silent Flute' feature article; Chuck Norris cover; David Carradine (Kung Fu TV series fame) feature; includes a UPC barcode on the bottom left indicating newsstand distribution.
Authentication Notes
Authentic magazine. The pulp paper stock shows appropriate age tanning for 1978. The UPC barcode style and font are consistent with late 70s Rainbow Publications prints.
