Condition Details
Moderate spine stress visible including one larger tick near the bottom left corner that breaks color. Top right corner shows slight blunting and a minor 'tip' crease through the polybag. Surface appears glossy but may have minor scuffing typical for the age of Dark Horse stock.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $3 - $8; Graded (9.0+): $25 - $40
Recent Sales
Recent eBay sales for raw copies of issue #1 have ranged from $0.99 (lot inclusion) to $10.00 for high-grade individual copies. Limited demand in the slabbed market.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of the grading service (approx. $25-$50) would exceed the market value of the comic. The grade is likely in the mid-to-high 7s due to spine wear.
Notable Features
First issue of the miniseries; based on 19th-century British folklore; distinctive painted cover art by Yiannis Tikaka.
Authentication Notes
The item appears to be an authentic 1991 First Printing from Dark Horse. The color registration, logo font, and paper age-tone are consistent with period-accurate Dark Horse publications. It is currently stored in a standard polybag.
