Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good (CGC 4.0)
Condition Details
Multiple visible color-breaking spine stresses and ticks. Significant corner blunting on the top right. Large non-original red price sticker adhered to the center-right cover. Surface scuffing and minor creasing throughout the cover plane. Likely some tanning of interior pages based on age and visible edge wear.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20 | Graded (4.0): $40 - $60
Recent Sales
Low-grade raw copies consistently sell for under $15. Higher grade copies (8.0+) can reach $100+, but this copy shows significant wear and a distracting sticker.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of CGC/CBCS submission would exceed the retail value of the book in this condition, especially considering the sticker damage which would lower the numerical grade or result in a 'qualified' grade if removed poorly.
Notable Features
Late Silver Age DC title. Features the 12-cent cover price. Notable for the transition of the Blackhawk team during the campy 'super-hero' era of the late 60s. Includes backup story 'The New Member of the Blackhawks'.
Authentication Notes
Authentic 1967 DC publication. Correct paper stock and 12-cent branding. The red circular sticker is a secondary market addition and not original to production.
