Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Good (CGC 2.0)

Condition Details

Significant wear including multiple color-breaking creases across the bottom right and top right corners, heavy spine roll and stress lines, blunted corners, and noticeable edge wear. Typical tanning of paper stock for the Silver Age.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $60 - $95 / Graded (2.0): $120 - $150

Recent Sales

Raw copies in low grade (1.5-3.0) have recently sold between $55 and $110. A CGC 3.0 copy sold for approximately $175 in mid-2023.

Grading Recommendation

Not recommended for professional grading unless for personal preservation. The cost of CGC/CBCS grading plus shipping and insurance would likely outweigh the market value gain for a 2.0 grade copy. A press and clean might improve it slightly, but structural damage is significant.

Notable Features

Early Silver Age key issue featuring the second team-up of villains Mr. Hyde and The Cobra. Features iconic Jack Kirby cover art.

Authentication Notes

Authentic Silver Age Marvel comic. Shows correct 12-cent price point for 1964 and Indicia on interior should match July 1964. Paper aging and staple oxidation appear consistent with a 60-year-old comic.
