Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine- (CGC 7.5)
Condition Details
Visible rounding and blunting on the top right corner. Minor spine stress marks showing through the polybag. The polybag itself shows significant wrinkling and shelf wear, which can sometimes leave impressions on the cardstock cover underneath.
Estimated Market Value
Raw (In polybag): $5 - $15 | Graded (9.8): $60 - $80
Recent Sales
Recent eBay sales for sealed copies range from $8 to $12 plus shipping. 9.8 graded copies have stabilized around $70 after the 30th-anniversary bump.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading. This issue was mass-produced (millions of copies) and the cost of grading exceeds the market value for any grade below 9.8. This specific copy shows corner wear through the bag that would likely prevent a high grade.
Notable Features
First full appearance of John Henry Irons (Steel) and Superboy (Kon-El/modern version). First appearance of the Cyborg Superman (Hank Henshaw in this form). The issue was sold in a white translucent polybag with a Bloodlines trading card.
Authentication Notes
Authentic first printing. Features the standard $2.95 cover price for the collector's edition. The black cardstock cover and polybagging are consistent with 1993 DC production standards.
