Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Very Fine- (CGC 7.5) to Very Fine (CGC 8.0)

Condition Details

Visible color-breaking spine stress marks (ticks), corner blunting on the top right, and some bag-related surface scuffing. Appears to have slightly off-white pages based on the edge visibility.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $5 - $15. Graded (9.8): $90 - $120. In current condition (7.5-8.0): approximately $15 - $20.

Recent Sales

High-grade 9.8 copies sell frequently for around $100. Lower raw grades often sell in bulk lots for $5-$10 per copy due to the extreme print run of over 8 million copies.

Grading Recommendation

Not recommended for professional grading. This is the highest-selling comic book of all time; unless it is a guaranteed 9.8 (Nearly Flawless), the cost of grading exceeds the market value of the book. Pressing might improve it, but the cost-to-value ratio is low.

Notable Features

Part of a 4-part connecting gatefold cover series. Features the 50 Years of Captain America anniversary logo in the bottom left corner. First appearance of the Acolytes (Fabian Cortez, Anne-Marie Cortez, Chrome, etc.).

Authentication Notes

Authentic Marvel product. Correct glossy cover stock typical of 1991 direct editions. Standard two-staple binding visible.
