Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine- (CGC 7.5) to Very Fine (CGC 8.0)
Condition Details
Visible glare from the bag obscures some details, but minor spine stress (ticks) is evident along the left edge. There is slight blunting on the bottom right corner and minor edge wear. Surface appears flat with vibrant colors preserved. The polybag is wrinkled, not the book itself.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $15 - $25; Graded (9.8): $150 - $200
Recent Sales
Recent raw copies in similar condition have sold for $18 - $22. CGC 9.8 copies average approximately $175 depending on recent market demand post-movie release.
Grading Recommendation
High mid-grade copy. Grading is likely only economically viable if the book can achieve a 9.6 or 9.8. Professional pressing could improve the grade by removing non-color-breaking surface indentations.
Notable Features
First appearance of Ted Kord in DC continuity (post-Crisis); 'Fabulous 1st Issue' starburst on cover; promo box for 'Dark Knight #1' on lower left; Direct Edition (identifiable by the character logo instead of a barcode).
Authentication Notes
Authentic 1986 copper-age printing. Gloss levels and paper stock are consistent with DC's standard production for the mid-80s.
