Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine (CGC 6.0)
Condition Details
Highly visible orange price sticker on the top left corner of the front cover which is a significant defect. Visible spine ticks/stress lines. Softening of the corners and slight edge wear. Gloss appears intact but the sticker likely contains adhesive that would damage the cover if removed improperly.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $3 - $8. Graded (9.0+): $25 - $40.
Recent Sales
Raw copies typically sell in bulk bins or for a few dollars. High-grade slabbed copies see limited movement due to the issue not being a major key.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of the grading service (approx $30+) exceeds the market value of the book. The price sticker and spine stress significantly lower the ceiling for a high grade.
Notable Features
Features a large ensemble of villains. This issue is notable for being one of the first appearances of the new Goliath (Erik Josten). The Spider-head logo in the UPC box indicates a Direct Market edition.
Authentication Notes
Genuine 1990 Newsprint era Marvel comic. Authentic aging on page edges (tanning) visible at the bottom. The price sticker is typical of 1990s secondary market comic shops.
