Comic Description

Part one of a classic two-part battle. Firelord, a former Herald of Galactus, arrives on Earth looking for a fight. Spider-Man, wearing the black symbiote suit (though depicted as the cloth version at this point), must find a way to stop an opponent far above his power level.

Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Fine/Very Fine (CGC 7.0)

Condition Details

Visible moderate shelf wear including several spine stress lines and ticks. Slight blunting to the bottom left corner. Minor color rub near the top edge. Non-color breaking pressure creases near the title logo. Surface scuffing visible on the white border areas.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $20 - $35; Graded (CGC 7.0): $60 - $85; Potential 9.0+: $120+

Recent Sales

Raw copies in similar condition recently sell for $25 - $30. CGC 9.8 copies have reached over $350, though this copy is significantly lower in grade.

Grading Recommendation

Not highly recommended for grading in its current 7.0 state as the cost of grading and shipping would exceed the value increase. However, if cleaned and pressed to reach an estimated 8.5+, it may be worth it for long-term collection value.

Notable Features

Classic battle between Spider-Man and Firelord. Black suit appearance (cloth version). Direct edition identified by the Spider-Man graphic in the barcode box. Mid-80s 'Copper Age' key battle issue.

Authentication Notes

Appears to be a genuine 1985 newsprint copy. The paper toning visible on the edge is consistent with the age of the stock. Ink saturation and 'M' Marvel logo placement are correct for this era.
