Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine/Very Fine (CGC 7.0) to Very Fine (CGC 8.0)
Condition Details
Visible color-breaking spine stress marks, moderate corner blunting on the top right and bottom left, slight edge wear along the right side, and a visible crease at the top right corner tip.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $5 - $15 | Graded (9.8): $75 - $110. Current raw state estimated at $8 - $12.
Recent Sales
Raw copies in similar mid-to-high grade condition frequently sell for $10 on eBay. Graded 9.8 copies have seen a high volume of sales reflecting the massive print run.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading. Due to the high print run (highest selling comic of all time), only 9.8 or higher grades are worth the cost of professional grading fees. The visible spine stress and corner wear on this copy would likely prevent a high enough grade to justify the investment.
Notable Features
Interlocking variant cover (1 of 4); Captain America 50th Anniversary logo in the UPC box; Newsstand/Direct Edition based on UPC box graphic (this is the Direct Edition with the Spider-Man/Captain America head); First appearance of the Acolytes.
Authentication Notes
Appears to be an authentic 1991 original. The colors are consistent with the paper stock used during this era. Staple placement appears standard for Marvel production of that period.
