Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine (CGC 6.0)
Condition Details
The comic is shown inside a plastic sleeve with a yellow '3' price sticker directly on the plastic. Visible glare from the sleeve obscures some details, but heavy tanning/browning of the newsprint paper is evident along the top edge. Minor spine stress and slight corner blunting are visible through the bag.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $2 - $5; Graded (9.8): $40 - $60
Recent Sales
Individual raw copies typically sell in bulk bins or for $1-3. High-grade CGC 9.8 copies occasionally reach $50, but demand is low.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of grading exceeds the market value of the book. The visible tanning of the interior pages (off-white to yellowish) would significantly lower the technical grade.
Notable Features
This issue features Jean-Paul Valley as Batman (Azrael-Batman). The 'Showcase' series was an anthology title used to highlight various characters in the DC Universe without their own active solo titles.
Authentication Notes
The credits list Chuck Dixon (Writer), Phil Jimenez (Penciller), and Dennis O'Neil (Consulting Editor), which are consistent with the 1994 publication. Paper stock appears to be standard newsprint of the era, subject to oxidation/tanning as seen here.
