Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good (CGC 4.0)
Condition Details
The book has significant visible defects including a large piece of clear tape applied directly to the center of the 'FLASH' logo on the cover. There is a red circular price sticker on the right side. Significant spine stress, corner blunting, and visible scuffing/shelf wear are also present. The bag appears wrinkled, but the tape and sticker on the cover are the primary grading detractors.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $3 - $8 / Graded 9.8: $150 - $180
Recent Sales
Raw copies in high grade (NM) sell for $15-$25. Copies in similar mid-to-low grade condition with tape/stickers often sell for under $10 in bulk lots or bargain bins.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The presence of tape on the cover and the adhesive from the sticker are irreversible defects that will result in a low technical grade. The cost of grading exceeds the market value of the book in this condition.
Notable Features
Key issue featuring the conclusion of 'The Return of Barry Allen' storyline. It is highly regarded as one of Mark Waid's best issues on his long run. Features Reverse-Flash (Eobard Thawne).
Authentication Notes
Authentic 1993 DC copper age printing. Correct glossy cover stock for the early 90s, proper DC bullet logo, and matching price/date box indicative of a direct market copy.
