Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine (CGC 8.0)
Condition Details
Visible color-breaking spine stresses (spine ticks) on the left edge. Minor corner blunting at the top left. Slight edge wear on the top margin. The bag causes some glare but the cover appears to have good gloss.
Estimated Market Value
$3 - $8 (Raw); $30 - $45 (Graded 9.8)
Recent Sales
Raw copies typically sell for $1 to $5. High-grade 9.8 CGC slabs sell in the range of $35 to $50 depending on shipping.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading. The cost of professional grading services (shipping, fees) would far exceed the market value of the comic. It is a mass-produced 90s issue with a Newsstand UPC, but it is not a major key.
Notable Features
Features a Newsstand UPC barcode in the bottom left corner, which is slightly rarer than the Direct Edition for this era. Character development for Superboy (Kon-El). Part of the massive 'Death and Return of Superman' multi-series event.
Authentication Notes
The comic appears authentic based on the trade dress, paper stock aging consistent with 1993, and standard printing registration. No indicators of reproduction or counterfeiting.
