Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine- (CGC 7.5)
Condition Details
Visible color-breaking spine ticks along the left edge. Some corner blunting on the top right. Minor scuffing on the foil surfaces which is common for this issue. Price sticker on the top right of the bag (not the book itself, but adhesive residue is a risk). Visible edge wear on the left spine side.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20; Graded (9.8): $90 - $120
Recent Sales
Recent raw copies in similar condition sold for $12-$15. High-grade 9.8 copies have recently sold for approximately $105.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading unless it is a sentimental piece. The current condition appears to be in the 7.5 range due to spine stress, and the cost of grading would exceed the market value of the book.
Notable Features
30th Anniversary issue featuring a silver holofoil wrap-around cover. Key appearance of the Acolytes. Includes a UPC barcode identifying it as a Direct Edition/Newsstand-style retail copy.
Authentication Notes
The holofoil effect is correct for the 1993 period. Authentic paper stock and 'Marvel Comics' corner box present. No signs of restoration or reproduction detected.
