Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good (CGC 4.0)
Condition Details
Heavy wear along the spine with multiple stress ticks, major corner blunting and creasing on the top and bottom corners, heavy vertical roll and curving, surface scuffing, and edge chipping.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $3 - $10, Graded (CGC 4.0): Not economically viable for professional slab submission given the low value.
Recent Sales
Recent raw sales for 1990s DC annuals in similar mid-to-low grades typically range from $2 to $5 on online marketplaces.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The grading and slabbing fees would vastly exceed the potential market value of the book in this condition.
Notable Features
Part of the DC Pulp Heroes theme month across 1997 annuals, featuring painted covers and pulp-inspired alternate takes on core DC heroes.
Authentication Notes
Appears to be an authentic 1997 DC Direct Edition comic with standard barcode, price $3.95 US / $5.50 CAN, and Comics Code Authority seal, showing expected aging of paper stock from that era.
