Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good (CGC 4.0)
Condition Details
Multiple visible spine stress marks and ticks, moderate blunting on top and bottom right corners, visible surface wear with some scuffing, and minor edge wear. A price sticker from a retail shop is present on the top right over the title. The polybag makes precise inspection difficult, but the spine shows significant wear.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $20 - $35; Graded 4.0: $50 - $65
Recent Sales
Recent sales for raw copies in low-to-mid grade range between $15 and $30. CGC 9.0+ copies can exceed $150.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading. The current estimated grade of 4.0-5.0 does not yield a high enough market premium to justify the $30-$50 grading and shipping costs. Best kept as a raw reader copy or for personal collection.
Notable Features
Key issue featuring the 'death' of Franklin Richards (coma induction). Iconic cover by Rich Buckler. Bronze Age classic.
Authentication Notes
Authentic 1973 Marvel 20-cent issue. Correct color registration and age-appropriate paper toning visible on the edges. Print quality matches Marvel's 1970s web-fed offset standards.
