Comic Description

Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine (CGC 6.0)
Condition Details
Visible color-breaking spine stress/ticks; some blunting at the top and bottom spine corners; noticeable surface wear and light scuffing on the cover; slight upper right corner crease; overall moderate wear consistent with storage outside of a protective sleeve for a period.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $5 - $15; Graded (9.8): $60 - $100
Recent Sales
Recent raw copies in similar condition have sold between $8 and $12. High-grade CGC 9.8 copies occasionally reaching $80.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading unless for sentimental reasons. The cost of grading exceeds the market value of a mid-to-high grade copy. Only worth grading if it were an absolute 9.8 candidate, which this is not due to visible spine damage.
Notable Features
Includes art by industry legends Jack Kirby and Bernie Wrightson. All proceeds were donated to famine relief. Notable for the wide range of top-tier talent from the 1980s comics industry contributing for free.
Authentication Notes
Appears to be an authentic first printing with the correct $1.50 cover price and Comic Code Authority seal. Color registration on the title looks consistent with mid-80s high-volume printing.
