Comic Description

Launch of the Absolute Universe. This story reimagines Bruce Wayne as a working-class citizen without the traditional Wayne Manor fortune or Alfred as a butler. In this universe, Batman is an underdog and a massive brute using an axe-like bat-symbol to fight crime in a darker Gotham.

Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Near Mint/Mint (CGC 9.8)

Condition Details

The comic appears to be in exceptional, showroom condition. Specifically, corners are sharp and square, edges are crisp, and the spine shows no visible stress or color breaks. The gloss is deep and uniform with no visible surface scratches or fingerprints. It is currently stored in a protective bag with a backing board which has maintained its structural integrity.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $25.00 - $40.00 | Graded (9.8): $100.00 - $150.00

Recent Sales

Recent raw sales on secondary markets like eBay range from $25 to $45 due to high demand and several sell-outs. Early 9.8 CGC pre-sales/sales are trending near $125.

Grading Recommendation

Highly Recommended for grading if a 9.8 is expected. This is a major modern key featuring the debut of a new continuity (Absolute Universe). A professional press and clean could ensure it reaches the 9.8 tier, significantly increasing its long-term collectible value as the flagship title of the DC All In initiative.

Notable Features

First appearance of Absolute Batman (Bruce Wayne); First appearance of Absolute Alfred Pennyworth; Key title in the DC 'All In' initiative; Features the iconic 'bulky' Batman design by Nick Dragotta.

Authentication Notes

Authentic modern DC release. Features the specific DC All In logo on the top right and the standard higher-stock cover paper used for modern $4.99+ DC releases. The UPC/Price sticker on the sleeve is a retailer inventory tag (likely from a chain like Midtown Comics or similar) and is on the plastic, not the comic itself.
