Comic Description
Spider-Man travels to Calgary, Alberta, during the Calgary Stampede. In this issue, he teams up with Turbo (of the New Warriors) and faces off against the villainous Over-Ride and the organization known as the Corporation. The story concludes a series of Canadian-exclusive promotional comics.
Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine- (CGC 7.5)
Condition Details
Visible minor spine stress marks (ticks), slight blunting to the upper right corner, and minor surface wear/scuffing visible on the white backgrounds. The cover gloss appears intact but shows typical aging for newsprint-style promotional paper.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $30 - $50 | Graded (9.6+): $150 - $250
Recent Sales
Recent eBay sales for raw copies range from $35 to $60 depending on dryness of paper and spine integrity. High-grade CGC 9.8 copies have occasionally exceeded $300 due to their scarcity in perfect condition.
Grading Recommendation
Moderate. Only worth grading if the book is found to be in 9.6 or 9.8 condition after a professional clean and press. As a promotional giveaway, many were handled poorly; a high-grade slabbed copy carries a premium for niche Spider-Man hobbyists.
Notable Features
Canadian exclusive promotional giveaway comic distributed by Zellers stores. Features Turbo (Michiko Musashi). This is the fourth and final issue of the 'Chaos in Calgary' series. It does not have a standard UPC barcode, but rather a promotional text box.
Authentication Notes
Authenticity is verified by the specific Canadian price box and the unique 'Zellers' or promotional branding. Note the thinner-than-standard cover stock which is common for these specific giveaways.
