Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good (CGC 4.0)
Condition Details
Significant visible defects including a heavy vertical subscription crease through the center, a large diagonal fold/crease on the top left corner, multiple color-breaking spine ticks, blunted corners, and edge wear along the right side of the cover.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $15 - $25; Graded (4.0): $45 - $60
Recent Sales
Recent 4.0 to 5.0 raw copies have sold in the range of $18-$22. Higher grade copies (9.0+) command significantly more ($150+), but this copy's major creasing limits its value.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of grading (approx. $30-$50) would likely exceed the final market value of the book in this condition (4.0 range). It is a great reader copy or personal collection filler.
Notable Features
Second appearance of Felicia Hardy (Black Cat). Direct Edition variant indicated by the diagonal line drawn through the UPC barcode. Iconic 'shocking climax' cover layout.
Authentication Notes
The item appears to be an authentic 1979 newsprint comic. Colors show natural aging, and the barcode strike-through is consistent with Marvel's mid-to-late 70s Direct Edition distribution method.
