Grading Recommendation
In its current 4.0 condition, it is not worth professional grading as fees would exceed the value increase. However, this is a highly desirable Bronze Age key; if cleaned and pressed, it might hit a 5.0, but still largely a 'reader' or mid-grade raw collectible.
Notable Features
Significant Bronze Age key issue. First appearance of the modern Hugo Strange. Iconic cover art by Marshall Rogers. Features the UPC barcode identifying it as a newsstand distribution copy.
Authentication Notes
Genuine 1977 newsstand copy. Proper 35-cent price point and DC 'Bullet' logo for the era. No signs of reproduction; paper stock shows age-appropriate off-white tanning.
