Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good/Fine (CGC 5.0)
Condition Details
Visible moderate spine stress and color-breaking ticks. Significant wear along the right-hand vertical edge and bottom right corner including creasing and slight paper loss. Moderate corner-blunting on bottom left. Top edge appears slightly wavy. The white background shows some 'foxing' or age-related staining/soiling.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20 | Graded (9.0+): $75 - $125. In current condition (approx 5.0), the value is closer to $8 - $12.
Recent Sales
Recent eBay sales for mid-grade raw copies of this issue range from $7 to $15. High-grade (CGC 9.4+) copies have sold in the range of $100-$150, but mid-grades are plentiful and inexpensive.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of CGC/CBCS grading, shipping, and handling would exceed the current market value of the comic in this condition. It is a great 'reader' copy or filler for a run.
Notable Features
Bronze Age war comic. Features Joe Kubert cover art and interior art. Includes iconic Sgt. Rock and Easy Company characters. 20-cent cover price variant.
Authentication Notes
Appearance is consistent with 1970s DC paper stock (newsprint) and printing techniques. 20-cent circular price tag and Comic Code Authority seal are positioned correctly. No signs of restoration visible from the cover.
