Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Near Mint (CGC 9.4)
Condition Details
The comic appears to be in very high-grade condition. Corners look sharp with no visible blunting. Spine shows minimal to no color-breaking stress ticks. Surface gloss is high with no visible scratching or scuffing through the bag. Slight reflection on the right edge is from the poly-bag, not a defect.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $5 - $15 | Graded (CGC 9.8): $60 - $80
Recent Sales
Raw copies frequently sell for under $10. High-grade CGC 9.8 copies have recently sold in the $65-$75 range, though demand is relatively low for this specific era of Deathlok.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading unless for personal sentimental value. The cost of grading (approx. $30-50) often exceeds the market value of the comic unless it achieves a perfect 9.8 grade.
Notable Features
First appearance of Michael Collins as Deathlok. This is a prestige format limited series featuring higher quality paper stock (cardstock cover). It is a Direct Edition as indicated by the Spider-Man head icon in the UPC box area.
Authentication Notes
The high-gloss cardstock cover and specific internal paper type of early 90s Marvel prestige formats are difficult to counterfeit. This appears to be a genuine original copy in exceptional condition.
