Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good- (CGC 3.5)
Condition Details
The book exhibits a severe vertical subscription crease or folding line down the center of the cover. Significant spine stress with multiple color-breaking ticks. Color-breaking corner creases on the bottom right and top left. Visible edge wear and blunting of corners. Significant scuffing and impact marks on the center-left cover image.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $5 - $10 | Graded (3.5): $25 - $35
Recent Sales
In higher grades (9.0+), this issue fetches $40-$60. In mid-to-lower grades like this specimen, it generally sells for under $10 in raw form due to the common nature of the era and the severity of the vertical crease.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of the grading service ($25+) exceeds the market value of the book in this condition. Professional pressing might flatten the vertical crease but would not remove the color-break lines, limiting its grade potential to the mid-grade range.
Notable Features
Classic Two-Face cover by Jim Aparo. Includes a 50-cent cover price. Bronze Age newsstand edition with barcode. Noted for being part of the Marv Wolfman run on Batman.
Authentication Notes
Authentic Bronze Age DC publication. Paper stock shows age-appropriate off-white to yellowish toning on the edges. Print registration and UPC placement are consistent with late 1980 manufacture.
