Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Good/Very Good (CGC 3.0)

Condition Details

Extensive spine stress and color-breaking creases along the left edge. Significant corner blunting particularly at the bottom left. Multiple surface creases across the cover. Appears to have paper aging (yellowing) and minor staining or soiling on the white rock areas. Edge wear is visible along the top and bottom.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $5.00 - $15.00 | Graded: $30.00 - $45.00 (Due to low demand for late reprints)

Recent Sales

Similar low-grade Classics Illustrated Junior reprints often sell in lots or for under $10 individually on platforms like eBay. Higher grades (9.0+) of early prints command higher premiums.

Grading Recommendation

Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of the grading service (approx $25-$40) exceeds the market value of the book in this condition and printing.

Notable Features

15 cent price variant indicates a later printing (Originals were usually 10 cents). Features a non-UPC golden age style layout. Part of the educational comics movement of the mid-20th century.

Authentication Notes

Authentic vintage printing. The paper stock shows natural oxidation (browning/yellowing) consistent with 1960s newsprint and pulp stock used by Gilberton. Staple placement and ink saturation are consistent with period lithographic printing.
