Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Good/Very Good (CGC 3.0)
Condition Details
Heavy color-breaking spine stress, significant edge wear with color loss, rounded and blunted corners (top right and top left), numerous surface creases, and visible soiling/toning across the top edge. The cover gloss is mostly faded.
Estimated Market Value
Raw $3-$8; Graded (CGC/CBCS 3.0) $25-$35
Recent Sales
Modern Comics reprints generally sell in the $5 range for mid-to-high grade raw copies. Charlton originals command a small premium over these reprints.
Grading Recommendation
Not worth professional grading. The costs of shipping and grading fees far exceed the market value of the book in this condition. Even with pressing, the color-breaking creases will remain permanent.
Notable Features
Modern Comics logo in top left (circle M); This is a 1970s reprint of the original Charlton Comics series. Modern Comics specialized in re-releasing Charlton material to department stores.
Authentication Notes
Consistent with Modern Comics production values (thin newsprint paper). The blue 'M' Modern Comics logo indicates this is the reprint version from 1978 rather than the 1975 Charlton original.
