Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Good (CGC 2.0)

Condition Details

Significant spine wear with color-breaking stress lines and chipping. Top edge of front cover is heavily frayed with several small tears and creases. Bottom right corner is blunted/rounded. Surface scuffing and minor soiling visible across the cover. Visible vertical creasing near the center top. General tanning consistent with age.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $15.00 - $25.00; Graded CGC 2.0: $40.00 - $60.00

Recent Sales

Recent low-grade (GD 2.0) raw copies have sold for approximately $20.00. Mid-grade (FN 6.0) copies range from $75-$100.

Grading Recommendation

Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of CGC/CBCS grading fees and shipping would likely exceed the potential market value increase for a 2.0 (Good) condition comic. Best kept as a nostalgic reader copy or in a protective bag and board.

Notable Features

Early Silver Age appearance of Namor the Sub-Mariner in the Iron Man series. Notable for being the issue where the Red Skull is revealed to have survived since WWII, a major status quo shift for Captain America's rogues gallery.

Authentication Notes

Consistent with authentic 1966 Marvel production: 12-cent cover price, non-glossy newsprint paper stock, and 'IND.' abbreviation below the Captain America logo. No indications of reproduction or restoration visible.
