Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine/Near Mint (CGC 9.0)
Condition Details
The comic is bagged and boarded, obscuring micro-defects, but the visible surface shows minimal wear with straight spine, sharp corners, and vibrant colors typical of a well-preserved copy with slight spine stress ticks.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20; Graded (CGC 9.8): $60 - $100
Recent Sales
Recent raw copies in similar high-grade condition typically sell between $10 and $25 on secondary markets like eBay.
Grading Recommendation
Not generally worth professional grading for value alone at a 9.0 grade, as grading fees would exceed the market value increase; only recommended if aiming for a high 9.8 or for personal collection display.
Notable Features
First issue of the series, first issue of the Epic Comics imprint for this ongoing storyline, origin and first appearance of Vanth Dreadstar in standard comic book format following the graphic novel.
Authentication Notes
Appears authentic with correct Epic Comics logo box, price ($1.50), and standard newsprint/paper stock of early 1980s Marvel/Epic publications.
