Good/Very Good (CGC 3.0)
Condition Details
The book shows heavy wear and structural fatigue. Key issues include significant spine rolling and splitting, color-breaking creases across the cover, rounded and frayed corners, and a possible slight trim or heavy wear on the top edge. There is visible surface soiling/staining (notably around the white text boxes) and significant aging/tanning of the paper stock. A large crease is visible on the bottom right corner.
Estimated Market Value
Raw (as-is): $15 - $25; Graded (CGC 3.0): $45 - $60
Recent Sales
Copies in VG (4.0) condition have recently sold for approximately $35-$45. This specimen is lower due to the heavy spine wear and surface creases.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The costs of shipping and grading fees would likely exceed the actual market value of the book in this condition. It is a great 'reader' or filler copy for a collection.
Notable Features
Features the 80-Page Giant branding G-44. It is an anthology issue containing reprints or special stories of DC's major war-era icons. Includes artwork by industry legend Joe Kubert.
Authentication Notes
The book appears to be an authentic 1968 DC publication. The wear patterns, paper oxidation ('yellowing'), and staple alignment (visible on the spine roll) are consistent with the age and manufacturing of silver-age DC Giants.
