Estimated Market Value

Raw: $20 - $35; Graded (9.8): $250 - $300; Graded (8.0): $50 - $65

Recent Sales

Recent raw copies in similar condition sold for approximately $25-$30. CGC 9.8 copies have recently sold in the $275 range due to the iconic Art Adams cover art.

Grading Recommendation

Generally not recommended for professional grading unless it is a guaranteed 9.8 (Near Mint/Mint). The cost of grading (approx $30-50 + shipping) often exceeds the value of a mid-to-high grade raw copy ($25). Pressing could improve the spine ticks, but might not elevate the grade enough to justify the expense.

Notable Features

Marvel 25th Anniversary border. First Arther Adams cover for the series. Features a Spider-Man icon in the UPC box indicating a Direct Edition. Notable for containing expanded story content not found in the original 1975 Giant-Size X-Men #1.

Authentication Notes

Authentic 1986 Marvel production. Paper stock is standard newsprint associated with the mid-80s across Marvel's reprint lines. Proper color saturation for the era; the 'Spider-Man' head logo in the corner box is correctly printed for a direct market copy.
