Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good (CGC 4.0)
Condition Details
Moderate shelf wear with visible scuffing and color loss across the top edge. Significant spine stress with several color-breaking ticks. Blunted corners, specifically the bottom left and top right. Minor surface creasing is visible on the center-right. The gloss appears dull in the black background areas due to age and handling.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20. Graded (at 4.0): $40 - $55.
Recent Sales
Raw copies in similar mid-to-low grade recently sell between $10 and $15. High-grade (NM 9.4+) copies trend significantly higher at $150+.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The costs of grading (CGC/CBCS) and shipping would likely exceed the final market value of a 4.0 grade copy. Better suited for raw collection.
Notable Features
Features the showdown with Crimson Jack and Jolli. This issue has a UPC barcode indicating it was a Direct Edition or Newsstand copy (common for 1978). Part of the original Bronze Age Marvel run that continued the story beyond the first movie.
Authentication Notes
Authentic Bronze Age print. Paper stock appears to be newsprint typical of late '70s Marvel publications. Proper 35-cent price point for the era with correct font and layout markers.
