Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Good (CGC 2.0)
Condition Details
Heavy wear visible including a vertical crease/bend down the center of the book, significant spine wear with splitting/chipping on the left edge, blunted and rounded corners, color-breaking creases, a production or date stamp near the title, and moderate surface soiling/staining on the white background areas.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $30 - $45; Graded: High graded copies fetch significantly more, but in this specific condition, the value remains low.
Recent Sales
Copies in VG (4.0) condition have recently sold for approximately $60-$80, while low-grade copies (GD 2.0) typically range from $25-$40.
Grading Recommendation
Not worth professional grading in this condition as the cost of grading and shipping would exceed the market value of the book. It is a great 'reader' copy for a collector.
Notable Features
Early Silver Age X-Men; Battle with the Super-Adaptoid; 12-cent cover price; No bar code (Standard for the era).
Authentication Notes
Appears to be an authentic 1967 Silver Age Marvel comic. Paper aging (browning/tanning) and staple placement are consistent with newsprint production of that era. Note the '12-15' date stamp on the cover, common for newsstand distribution during that period.
