Condition & Value

Condition Grade

Very Fine/Near Mint (CGC 9.0)

Condition Details

Visible minor spine stress ticks that do not appear to break color. Slight corner blunting on the bottom right. Surface gloss appears high, but minor shelf wear is evident along the spine edge. The card attachment on the cover creates a natural slight indentation consistent with this release.

Estimated Market Value

Raw: $5 - $15; Graded 9.8: $60 - $85

Recent Sales

Recent eBay sales for raw copies range from $4 to $12 depending on condition. 9.8 slabbed copies have sold between $65 and $90 in the last 6 months.

Grading Recommendation

Not recommended for professional grading unless for personal collection. The cost of grading (approx. $30-$50) often exceeds the current market value of a mid-to-high grade raw copy. Only worth it if it is a guaranteed 9.8.

Notable Features

First part of the 'Power and Responsibility' crossover (continued from Web of Spider-Man #117). Features a 'Fantastic Flip Book' format with two stories. Notable for the early appearance of Ben Reilly in the modern era and the setup of the Jackal's return.

Authentication Notes

Authentic 1994 Marvel Direct Edition. Features the correct 'Venom' head corner box art instead of a barcode. Paper stock is the standard glossy stock used by Marvel in the mid-90s.
