Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Good/Fine (CGC 5.0)
Condition Details
Visible rounding and blunting on the upper-right and lower-right corners. Significant spine roll or misalignment along the left edge. Apparent foxing/tanning on the right-side white border and light color-breaking stress marks along the spine. Subtle yellowing of the cover paper stock consistent with age.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $10 - $20; Graded (CGC 5.0): $40 - $55
Recent Sales
High-grade copies (9.8) have sold for $300-$500; mid-grade copies (5.0-6.0) typically range from $15 to $35 on eBay and Heritage Auctions.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading in current condition. The cost of grading (approx. $25-$35 plus shipping) would likely exceed the market value of a 5.0 grade. It is a better candidate for a 'filler' comic in a raw collection.
Notable Features
200th anniversary issue; features artwork from various legendary DC artists in different segments; appearance of the original Appelaxian aliens from JLA origin (re-told here). Direct Edition (indicated by the logo in the bottom left corner).
Authentication Notes
The book appears authentic. It shows standard age-appropriate paper oxidation and registration of DC's early 1980s flexographic printing process. No signs of restoration visible from the image.
