Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine (CGC 6.0)
Condition Details
Visible color-breaking spine stress/ticks; corner blunting (particularly the top right and bottom left); notable diagonal crease on the bottom right corner; some surface soiling or tanning on the cover background; visible vertical indentation near the spine.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $3 - $7; Graded (9.8): $40 - $60
Recent Sales
Raw copies typically sell in bulk bins or for $5 online. Recent high-grade CGC 9.8 sales have hovered around $50, which is often less than the cost of grading fees and shipping.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The estimated condition (6.0-7.0) does not justify the grading costs, as the final value would be lower than the investment. This issue is not a major key.
Notable Features
Bill Sienkiewicz cover art; part of a 1980s Marvel limited series; features Dazzler and Beast in their solo/duo team-up era.
Authentication Notes
Authentic Marvel Direct Edition from 1985. Paper stock is standard newsprint of the era which shows expected light age-toning. The Spider-Man face in the barcode box confirms it was sold in comic specialty shops rather than newsstands.
