Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Fine+ (CGC 6.5)
Condition Details
Visible price sticker and black circular adhesive/security tag on the top right front cover which significantly affects the grade. Minor corner blunting on the bottom left and top left. Slight spine stress ticks along the left edge. The bag appears scuffed, but the cover under it shows decent gloss. The sticker residue/removal risk is the primary detractor.
Estimated Market Value
Raw (with sticker): $1.00 - $3.00; Graded 9.8 (High End): $40.00 - $60.00. Current condition value is essentially 'dollar bin' status.
Recent Sales
High-grade 9.8 copies typically sell for $50. Low-grade or stickered raw copies often sell in bulk lots for under $2.00 per issue.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading. The cost of grading exceeds the market value of the book, especially with the presence of multiple adhesive stickers on the cover which may leave residue or cause paper lift if removed.
Notable Features
Features the early team lineup of Generation X; Chris Bachalo cover/interiors known for the unique 90s aesthetic; Direct Edition with UPC barcode.
Authentication Notes
The comic appears authentic. The paper stock, 'Direct Edition' UPC marking, and 1995 price points ($1.50 US/$2.05 CAN) are consistent with original Marvel printings of that era. The 'Third Planet' store sticker is a common secondary market identifier from the 90s/00s retail era.
