Comic Description
A collection of three short stories set in the Sin City universe: 'Fat Man and Little Boy,' 'The Customer is Always Right,' and 'Blue Eyes.' It features the signature noir aesthetic of Frank Miller with high-contrast black and white art.
Condition & Value
Condition Grade
Very Fine/Near Mint (CGC 9.0)
Condition Details
The black cover is highly prone to showing wear. Visible edges show minor white chipping/shelf wear. Slight blunting of the bottom left corner. Gloss appears intact, but there is mild spine stress visible on the left edge. Significant reflections in the photo make a definitive check for surface scratches difficult.
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $5 - $10; Graded (9.8): $60 - $80
Recent Sales
Raw copies typically sell for under $10. High-grade graded copies (9.8) have recently fluctuated between $55 and $85 depending on the market platform.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for professional grading unless the collector believes it is a guaranteed 9.8. The cost of grading exceeds the current market value for raw or mid-to-high grade copies. A press and clean would be necessary to remove surface impressions due to the high-ink cover.
Notable Features
Includes the story 'The Customer is Always Right,' which served as the famous opening scene for the 2005 Sin City motion picture. This issue is part of the 'Red' Sin City one-shot series.
Authentication Notes
The high-gloss cover and specific shade of red in the logo are consistent with original 1996 Dark Horse stock. No known reprints have mimicking trade dress that would cause confusion.
